COLUMBUS, Ohio -- July 1, 2002 -- Superconductive Components, Inc. (OTCBB: SCCI) today announced a new corporate structure with SCI Engineered Materials becoming the sole operating unit of the company. Target Materials, Inc. and SCI Division, previously separate divisions of the company will conduct business as SCI Engineered Materials. Superconductive Components, Inc., founded in 1987, is a leading manufacturer of advanced ceramics, optical materials, and high temperature superconductive and non-superconductive products.

Daniel Rooney, President and Chief Executive Officer, commented, "SCI Engineered Materials better aligns the company's overall strengths with its growth opportunities. During the past several months we have begun to implement plans to better utilize the company's established capabilities, including its extensive product offerings.
