COLUMBUS, Ohio -- August 15, 2000 -- Superconductive Components, Inc. (OTC Pink Sheets: SCCI) today announced that previously issued earnings for 1998 and 1999 have been restated based on the opinion of the Company's independent auditors. Previously released, un-audited 1998 earnings of $13,288 were adjusted to ($241,804). Un-audited 1999 losses of $99,644 were increased to $145,934.

Dr. Edward R. Funk, Chairman and CEO, stated "Our earnings have been restated due to the opinion of our auditors that reserves be established to reflect the age of some inventory items. While we feel that some of the inventory from 1996 and earlier may have value, the conservative approach is to create a reserve which will enable us to write those items down to 10% of their purchase price or manufacturing cost. The creation of this reserve does not in any way effect the Company's cash position. While there were other adjustments that resulted from this review, this reserve for obsolete inventory had the most dominant effect on our previously reported results."

The re-stated figures for 1998 are as follows:
Sale of $2,498,162 Losses of $241,804 Loss per share of $0.20

The re-stated figures for 1999 are as follows:
Sales of $2,678,362 Losses of $145,934 Loss per share of $0.12

"The completion of this audit was an important step in the company's efforts to get its shares re-listed on the OTC Bulletin Board," stated Funk. "The process will move ahead more quickly now with the planned filing of the 10SB document within the next few weeks."
