Announces the Completion First Phase of an Expected $1 Million Private PlacementCONTACT: COLUMBUS, Ohio -- October 10, 2000 -- Superconductive Components, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: SCCI) today announced it has secured $528,000, which represents the first phase of a two phase investment by Mangart Global Fund Limited and Windcom Investments SA. Mangart Global and Windcom Investments purchased an aggregate of 200,000 common shares at $2.50 per share and warrants for the purchase of an additional 140,000 common shares. The warrants were purchased for $.20 per warrant and are exercisable at $3.50 per common share. In the event the warrants are exercised, the second phase will provide the company with an additional $490,000 of working capital. The first phase of the investment is also to be matched, in a conversion of debt to equity, by company President Dr. Edward Funk and his wife, Vice President Ingeborg Funk. "We are very pleased", stated Dr. Funk, "that the Mangart Global Fund and Windcom Investments have chosen to back our materials based business development strategy. Their timely injection of capital enables SCCI to expand its capacity for ceramic powders, nano-materials and sputtering targets to keep pace with rapid developments in energy technology."
